Fortinet's FortiGate-620B Earns Top Honors as eWeek Channel Insider Best Product of the Year

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SUNNYVALE, CA, December 23 / MARKET WIRE/ --

Fortinet? -- the pioneer and leading
provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -- today announced
that its FortiGate-620B enterprise security appliance has been named one of
the top 10 products of the year by eWeek Channel Insider. After scoring
high marks in a recent eWeek Channel Insider review, Fortinet's latest
ASIC-based appliance, with 16 Gbps firewall and 12 Gbps VPN throughput, was
selected as the number one network security product of 2008.

eWeek Channel Insider reviewed roughly 200 products throughout the year,
but the Fortinet FortiGate-620B's ability to offer a "plethora of
protection" for enterprises pushed the product to the top of its class.
Solutions were evaluated on innovation, functionality, up-sell and
value-add service opportunities and market potential, coupled with the
vendor's channel support program. eWeek Channel Insider Reviewer and
Executive Technology Editor Frank Ohlhorst lauded Fortinet for offering
"excellent channel support and keep[ing] partners involved in the upgrade
and renewal processes, helping them to derive residual income."

The FortiGate-620B is the second in a family of enterprise-class products
that leverages the accelerated performance and expanded network
capabilities typical of Fortinet's highest-end systems. The FortiGate-620B
appliance was praised for its ability to "do less with more" by integrating
eight core security functions, including antivirus, intrusion prevention
(IPS), spyware prevention, anti-spam, Web content filtering, traffic
shaping, VPN and firewall. Customers can choose to purchase FortiGate
appliances for all of these functionalities, or integrate just a few
functions. Expandable up to 24 ports, the FortiGate-620B offers the highest
port density in its class, which is the key driver behind the flexibility
that enterprise companies can now have for internal network security
segmentation.

"Fortinet's channel has been an instrumental part of our success and we
continually strive to equip our partners with valuable, innovative and
necessary products to solve their customers' challenges," said Anthony
James, vice president of products at Fortinet. "We're happy to receive
this accolade from eWeek Channel Insider as it publicly echoes the positive
feedback and market demand for this very high performance, fully integrated
mid-enterprise security solution."
