New Online Portal Lets Injection Molding Customers Help Themselves
MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. --(Business Wire)-- Protomold, the world leader in rapid injection molding, announces a new online portal for new and existing customers. In this portal, you can view order status and history; order parts from existing molds; upload 3D CAD files for a quote; place orders; and forward your cart to colleagues. You'll have instant access to molds, parts, costs, materials, production, shipping and payment information right from your desktop.
Customers can set passwords and other access criteria by visiting the portal at https://portal.protomold.com. The portal is secure and password protected. The portal's home page has five main sections: Your Quotes, Your Molds, Your Cart, Your Orders and Your Account.
Customer Chris Crowley of Table Mountain Innovation tested the portal prior to launch. "I like the idea of being able to get information myself whenever I need it. All my Protomold injection molds dating from 2006 are on the system. I can view detailed parts history including the number of parts made in the mold; photos; resins used; milling history; production and shipping dates; where each parts batch shipped to; and how we paid for them." In addition to history, customers can manage current business through the portal. Crowely states that he can order new molds, or select existing molds and order parts using a simple shopping cart interface. "I can choose the material, quantity and leadtime. Then I just click to place the order, or I can forward my shopping cart to my colleagues for verification beforehand. I spend less time doing administrative work and chasing down information. Now I have more time to design products for my clients."
