D-Link Unveils Fixed Dome Network Camera With PoE Support

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA, July 23 / MARKET WIRE/ --

D-Link, the end-to-end networking
solutions provider for consumer and business, today unveiled a fixed dome
network camera that makes monitoring discreet, protects against tampering,
and connects to a variety of external devices such as switches and alarm
relays, making it a powerful solution for businesses requiring
indoor/outdoor security.

The D-Link? Fixed Dome Network Camera (DCS-6110) is a high-performance
IP-based network camera designed for professional indoor surveillance and
security applications. The VGA Progressive CMOS Sensor in the DCS-6110
delivers exceptional picture quality, and with the built-in Samba client
for NAS there is no need for a direct connection to a PC or any other
hardware or software to capture and transfer video. Equipped with PoE
support, the DCS-6110 can receive both power and data over a single
Ethernet cable, allowing the camera to be placed in locations that aren't
near a power outlet.

The D-Link Fixed Dome Network Camera supports simultaneous dual streaming
of MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG (MJPEG) to provide both high quality and
bandwidth efficient compression formats. MJPEG delivers greater file
integrity, making it ideal for detailed monitoring situations. MPEG-4 video
has smaller file sizes, making it more useful for extended recording
periods or for use in low bandwidth networks.

"The feature-rich DCS-6110 fixed dome network camera represents a premiere
digital surveillance solution for businesses requiring security monitoring
of a location either locally or remotely," said Chris Wong, Director of
Product Management, D-Link Systems, Inc. "It provides outstanding picture
quality and flexible options for scheduling and recording video, making it
an ideal all-in-one solution for premise security."

With support for 3GPP Mobile Surveillance, users are able to view a live
video feed from a compatible Internet-ready mobile phone with a 3GPP player
installed. This extends monitoring capability without requiring the use of
a computer, allowing remote viewing of the camera's video feed while on the
go.

The DCS-6110 includes a free version of D-Link D-ViewCam(TM) 2.0 management
software enabling management of up to 32 network cameras, setting e-mail
alert notifications, setting recording schedules, and trigger motion
detection to record directly to a hard drive. D-ViewCam 2.0 also allows
users to upload a business floor plan and create a realistic layout of
where cameras are located, further simplifying the management process.
