Mobile World Congress Offers Showcase for APG Solution

By Chris Freeburn, TMCnet Web Editor

Service assurance software developer Watch4net unveiled APG, its new unified performance management solution, at the Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) in Barcelona, Spain, last week. At the congress, Watch4net demonstrated APG’s specifications and showed how it will benefit the mobile, 4G/LTE industries.

“Due to the large size of the show, it gave us a chance to find potential partners to resell our solution APG,” Camille Bouquerod, coordinator, marketing and communications at Watch4Net, told TMCnet. “It was a good meeting place for networking. 60,000 people attended the conference, and Watch4net was able to meet with different vendors. It was very practical to see people from different backgrounds all in one spot.”

The ability to monitor network, data and cloud performance is vital to companies. WatchNet’s APG solution provides continuous assessment of critical infrastructure conditions and helps quickly resolve problems when they appear. Delivering full visibility of infrastructure performance, WatchNet’s APG provides businesses with a vital ability to review and maintain infrastructure strength and functionality.

Watch4Net’s APG combines ease of use with the ability to reduce costs and streamline company operations in a unified performance management system that can be deployed across many all types of organizations.

“We will participate [in the Mobile World Congress] in association with the Canadian Ministry of Innovation, with five other companies from Quebec. We are hoping that more and more people get to know APG and recognize its various strengths including flexibility and scalability, especially with the enhanced new version of the product. In other words, we want to be qualified as innovators among solutions for performance management providers,” company officials said prior to the Mobile World Congress.

With mobile operators facing an escalating need to add increased capacity and coverage and add new services, mobile service providers find themselves in a fiercely competitive marketplace where fast-evolving technologies raise customer expectations and the spread of mobile devices continues to grow exponentially. In order for service providers to deliver the quality of service their customers demand, they require solutions that can support their complex operations.

APG’s Mobile solution supports 2G, 3G, 4G and CDMA networks. The solution is compliant with a number of vendors and can be configured to work with various data collectors. APG will monitor critical mobile service infrastructure, including application servers, databases, SAN/NAS, IP Network and SLA. The solution permits the import of external data through reference file or third-party applications via a generic inbound adapter. Scalable to fit the needs of any organization, APG can monitor tens of thousands of devices and millions of events in real-time.

“Thanks to the services offered by the MWC, we had the chance to meet with operators and technology CEOs and CTOs. The different meetings we attended made these people very accessible and easy to talk to and present our solution, which is very valuable for a small company like Watch4net,” said Bouquerod. “The key word for this show was ‘Customer Experience.’ In terms of performance monitoring, it’s something that we’d like to work on in the future.”
