By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

According to Gartner's (News - Alert) "Cool Vendors in Storage Technologies" report, Pliant Technology has been recognized in Gartner's influential 2010 listing.

Pliant Technology, a developer of enterprise-class state storage devices designed to reduce IT costs, has produced a "Lightning" product line that provided data centers and other computing environments with high levels of IT storage and system performance that directly impacts the organization's bottom line.

"We are delighted that Gartner has recognized Pliant as a 'Cool Vendor.' We believe that the Lightning product line delivers the type of game-changing benefits that directly impact the enterprise organization's bottom line," say Amyl Ahola, CEO of Pliant Technology.

Ahola further added that augmenting existing server and storage systems with Pliant enterprise flash drives had drastically reduced power consumption and floor space requirements, accelerated performance levels and improved reliability.

Continuing in the same vein, Ahola expounded on the benefits of Pliant's Lightning product line, and said that it could help reduce IT costs by over 50 percent. The EFDs increased performance levels, provided so-called breakthrough levels of performance, reliability and efficiency, enabling the IT infrastructure to do more with less.

The ultimate analysis would be lower cost, less power and a smaller footprint. All the products are rugged and are designed for demanding, mission critical data center applications, including financial services, high performance computing and even digital media applications.

Gartner's listing does not constitute an exhaustive list of vendors in any given technology area, but rather is designed to highlight interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services.

Pliant Technology's Enterprise Flash Drives are a new class of solid state storage devices that integrate seamlessly into enterprise information systems and dramatically improve performance, reliability, energy efficiency.
