NetWitness Corporation will unveil the NetWitness (News - Alert) Spectrum app at this week’s RSA Conference in San Francisco. According to a company press release, Spectrum (News - Alert) features malware analysis, and sets priorities and workflow.

Spectrum can:

Mimic techniques used by malware analysts by asking thousands of questions about an object and its network behavior.

Leverage NetWitness Live by using information from threat intelligence and reputation services to “assess, score, and prioritize risks.”

Use NetWitness NextGen’s (News - Alert) network monitoring capability for visibility and extraction of content, across protocols and apps.

Provide complete answers to questions, including supporting data, with options that are designed for diverse environments and rapidly evolving threats.

“The Spectrum application offers signature-free, automated identification of zero-day, targeted and advanced malware,” according to a report from TMCnet. “It offers the visibility to identify executable content wherever it may exist, and can also answer questions about related behavior … within the context of an organization's individual network environment. The solution can analyze an entire network's interaction with each threat factor and adjust the levels of scrutiny according to priority.”

At the RSA (News - Alert) Conference, the company will demonstrate its network monitoring and visibility technology. Company officials will also take part in panel discussions about malware, cloud security, and advanced persistent threats.

The company will be in Booth No. 1448 during the conference. Detailed product information is available at the booth. Attendees may visit the company's website to obtain a code for a complimentary RSA Expo Pass.

One panel, featuring a top company official, will be held Friday, Feb. 18, at 9:00 a.m. Called “Managing Risk and Maintaining Control on the Road to Secure Government Clouds" (PNG-401), Amit Yoran will take part in the discussion with officials from the U.S. House of Representatives, Lockheed Martin and EMC Corporation (News - Alert).
