Network Monitoring Company Gigamon Enters Strategic Partnership with Compuware

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

A strategic partnership has been announced by Compuware, a technology performance company, and Gigamon, a global provider of intelligent data access networking. This partnership is expected to help IT organizations ease network data access and improve application performance.

The focus is a combination of Compuware (News - Alert) Vantage and Gigamon GigaVUE technology to help IT organizations to optimize their network monitoring efforts for better network service quality and improve network and application performance issue diagnosis and reporting.

“This combined solution will greatly enhance the ability to proactively manage the performance of applications,” said Kevin Jablonski, vice president, marketing and business development, Gigamon (News - Alert), in a statement. “With the amount of data cycling through an organization’s networked infrastructure and application performance expectations heightened, the pressure put upon IT assets and the team that manages them is paramount. We are very happy to be partnering with a market leader like Compuware to provide a joint solution that will help these teams across the world.”

To support network monitoring efforts, Gigamon’s GivaVUE platform will aggregate all the data points of interest to filter network traffic and deliver that “wanted” traffic to Compuware Vantage. Network engineers, IT operations and security teams benefit from this streamlined data as it provides indisputable evidence to proactively diagnose the health of networks without the need for configuration or change management.

“IT organizations are striving to improve the performance of their enterprise and Internet applications. The Compuware and Gigamon partnership will help IT organizations simplify data collection and manage data traffic flows. This combination will enable customers to rapidly access critical information on application performance from the end user’s perspective,” said Kimberly King, Compuware vice president, Channels and Alliances. “We are excited to partner with Gigamon and provide our joint customers with the most advanced technology to productively and successfully deliver applications.”

Gomez and Vantage are Compuware’s application performance management solutions that are positioned as the only ones in the market to provide broad visibility and deep-dive resolution across the application delivery chain, which spans the enterprise and the Internet.

With such capabilities in place, Compuware is strongly positioned to deliver the network monitoring capabilities necessary for organizations everywhere to optimize application performance.

In other Gigamon news, TMCnet recently reported that the network monitoring company has entered into a distribution agreement with ComputerLinks. The company intends to collaborate with the vendor to create a broader partner and customer base for its network monitoring tools.
