Nimsoft Network Monitoring Solution Selected by SunGard

Offering its clients high availability and rapid elasticity, SunGard has selected the Nimsoft Monitoring System (NMS) as the underlying platform for its new cloud services offering.

NMS delivers the visibility needed to monitor and manage performance across various environments, making it the one solution that can address all of today’s monitoring needs, and those arising in the future, the company has stated.

With unique features like status and usage monitoring, trending, detailed reporting, SLA tracking, and integration with a comprehensive environment that continuously monitors both the physical and virtual infrastructure, NMS addresses many of the challenges of deploying public and private clouds. NMS provides streamlined configuration and deployment, extensive APIs for integration to existing tools and cloud-compatible business models as it is deployed with a reliable, highly scalable, architecture that optimizes system resources or network bandwidth.

“Nimsoft continues to develop targeted solutions for service providers eager to tap into the market potential of the cloud," said Gary Read, Nimsoft CEO. "NMS delivers features, such as programmable APIs, that service providers need to deliver reliable, highly available cloud services-while empowering them to drive down costs with automation and economies of scale,” continued Gary Read in a company press release.

SunGard can reduce the risk of setting high service expectations with NMS as the basis for its new cloud offering. The company understands these optimized service levels can be tracked on behalf of the client and visualized in client-facing service dashboards. SunGard has more than 20,000 employees and serves 25,000 customers in 70 countries, the company has stated.

In August 2010, Nimsoft announced that Global Data Systems (GDS), a provider of network solutions, plans to deploy the Nimsoft Network Monitoring Solution (NMS) to replace multiple tools in its network operations center. NMS enables unified monitoring of client infrastructures, eliminating the need to manage and integrate multiple disparate monitoring tools. Additionally, it also adds significant value with an intuitive client-facing portal and automated alerting features.
