Network Performance Management Analysis Nets Plixer an Award

September 03, 2010

Plixer International (News - Alert), Inc., a global player in NetFlow analysis software development, has been announced as the recipient of the “ANPM for the Masses Award” from Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) in their recently released industry analysis titled "EMA RadarTM for Application-Aware (News - Alert) Network Performance Management Q3 2010."

Scrutinizer NetFlow and sFlow Analyzer was also noted to be a “Strong Value” in comparison to other ANPM solutions.

“Plixer has put their entire focus on pushing the limits of what can be achieved with NetFlow, including groundbreaking work on combining Flexible NetFlow and the related templates,” said Jim Frey, research director, Enterprise Management Associates, in a statement.

Frey said that their advanced analysis algorithms and leading-edge use of NBAR demonstrated impressive reporting and alarming abilities.

“Scrutinizer is the best pure play I’ve seen for NetFlow reporting,” he said.

Plixer International, a developer of 100 percent web-based IT management systems, specializes in NetFlow and sFlow analysis.

Officials with Plixer said that in order to compliment focus on flow-based monitoring technologies, the company has built integration for many third party tools into their products and architecture.

The EMA (News - Alert) analysis notes that Plixer International offers a superior product with Scrutinizer “supporting a broad range of application types, reaching levels typically available only through packet-based instrumentation.”

Scrutinizer is a tool that provides incredibly detailed network utilization information for the users and applications that are causing the most traffic.

Company officials said that through NetFlow Technology, Scrutinizer is able to retrieve the traffic details and present them in a flexible graphical view.

According to company officials, in addition to Scrutinizer, Plixer’s Flow Analytics brings traffic flow diagnostics to the next level by adding historical reporting, advanced alarming, and in-depth traffic analysis algorithms to the Scrutinizer software.

It can easily identify top applications, conversations, flows, protocols, domains, countries, subnets on the network, as well as watch for and alert on suspicious or potentially hazardous network behavior patterns.
