Ipswitch's Network Management Software Wins Army Certificate of Networthiness

July 16, 2010

Ipswitch (News - Alert), Inc.'s network management division, the developer of the WhatsUp Gold suite of innovative IT network management software, just announced that its Event Archiver software has received the Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) from the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command.

By receiving the Certificate of Networthiness, the Event Archiver has been configured to the current Army Golden Master baseline and complies with all U.S. Army and Department of Defense (DoD) standards for security, compatibility and sustainability. According to Ipswitch’s press release, a CoN is required for all enterprise software products deployed in the Army Enterprise Infrastructure Network and used by the U.S. Army, all National Guard, Army Reserve and DoD organizations.

As per Ipswitch, the U.S. Army chose WhatsUp Event Archiver as a recommended solution to streamline the process of clearing, collecting, consolidating and storing log data for auditing and regulatory compliance purposes, because it exceeds the U.S. Army’s strict security, sustainability and interoperability requirements.

"We are very proud that Event Archiver 7.1 and Ipswitch's WhatsUp Gold 14.2, which was previously awarded the CoN, have been recognized as being in compliance with the Army's strictest standards for software security," said Patrick Loring, vice president of sales, Ipswitch, Inc.'s network management division. “We are dedicated to meeting the needs of the GIS community and delivering software that earns the Department of Defense's highest level of certification is an important milestone for the entire company.

Ipswitch officials say the Event Archiver “automates log collection, clearing and consolidation. It is essential for audit requirements for regulatory compliance. Event Archiver is part of the WhatsUp Gold Event Log Management Suite, which also includes: WhatsUp Event Analyst, with one-click filtering for event examination and log trends analysis as well as reporting for audit and compliance; WhatsUp Event Alarm, which provides monitoring, alerting and real-time notification of key events; and WhatsUp Event Rover, for on-the-fly forensics and log data mining.
