However, as the complexity and size of networks increased, there was a simultaneous increase in the number and range of clients. This was when Agilisys realized the need for greater network visibility.
It overhauled its network management system and selected SolarWinds (News - Alert) and its Orion family of network management solutions to ensure greater visibility of the client's network. For the past six years, Agilisys has relied on Orion to deliver performance visibility to its expanding base of customers.
'Our previous applications were unable to provide a centralized view of our information estates and the other options we looked at were too heavy handed to configure and were not cost effective,' Shabrul Uddin, Agilisys Head of Service Availability, said.
Elaborating on the advantages of SolarWinds, Uddin said, that with SolarWinds, client's issues could be dealt with in a timely and effective manner as they could get a comprehensive view of the client's network. This had resulted in an improvement of service and a better understanding of the diverse estates.
Currently, Agilisys uses SolarWinds solutions to manage up to 1,500 servers, over 3,000 network devices and a number of applications as part of its client infrastructure portfolio.
By deploying a number of individual Orion performance monitors and configuration managers into the clients' environments and then rolling out each module into a single Orion console, Agilisys was able to get a single centralized view of all its clients' networks.
In addition to the greater depth of features, the move to SolarWinds has saved Agilisys $59,000 annually in maintenance cost.
Appreciative of SolarWinds features, Uddin said that SolarWinds perfectly catered to Agilisys' needs and external and internal customers were happy with the kind of service rendered.
