Alabama One Credit Union Chooses Ipswitch for End-to-end Network Management

May 05, 2010

Looking to provide end-to-end network management of the credit union's 10 branches, Alabama One Credit Union announced it has chosen the WhatsUp Gold suite of innovative IT management solutions, developed by Ipswitch, Inc.'s Network Management Division.

Designed to easily manage networks of all sizes, from small businesses to large enterprises, WhatsUp Gold is a powerful monitoring and management solution.

According to Ipswitch (News - Alert), what differentiates WhatsUp Gold is that it's tried, tested, and proven on thousands of networks. WhatsUp Gold provides features such as enhanced automation, reliability and expanded coverage for managing your network, server and application infrastructure.

Alabama One's IT department was looking for customizations for its WhatsUp Gold setup, which included a SQL back end and multiple redundant systems. The company chose WhatsUp Gold support team for telephone assistance and received point by point instructions on customizing the setup. Used extensively to track SLAs, as well as the variety of alert and notification formats, Alabama One also relies heavily on WhatsUp Gold reporting features.

"Within minutes of completing the install, the network was discovered," said Chris Koskodan, network administrator, Alabama One Credit Union. "The benefits were immediate: for the first time we could monitor the status of all business-critical network devices in real time and receive audible alerts the minute there is an issue. We now check our vendor SLAs against actual performance numbers. We had no way to monitor vendor stats ourselves."

In earlier days, Alabama One Credit Union had to rely on what the vendors told them. The company can now hold vendors to their promises with the help of WhatsUp Gold. The company can also make extensive use of the reports, including setting bandwidth thresholds at peak times.
