Moxa MXview Helps You Manage and Monitor Your Ethernet Networks

January 04, 2013

Moxa’s newest version of its MXview solution, version 2.2, will make it easier for industrial users to monitor and manage their Ethernet networks.

The new version provides support for power over Ethernet device visualization and third-party device management. The new features are designed to improve the solution’s position as a monitoring, diagnostic and management tool for networks.

Version 2.2 also improves MXview’s support for third-party devices, making it more useful for networks that use products from other vendors. It also boasts new inventory and device availability reports that users can export to Microsoft (News - Alert) Excel-compatible files, enabling network operators to better manage and monitor their assets.

“With the new features we’ve introduced in MXview 2.2, it’s even easier for industrial users to monitor and manage the health of their network infrastructure,” said Jim Toepper, product manager at Moxa Americas Inc, in a release. “We believe that experiencing the software yourself is one of the best ways to understand how easy it is to use, which is why we are offering a trail version for downloading.”

The solution offers several standard features that were present on previous editions of the software such as virtual device panel, VLAN/IGMP visualization, event playback, event detection and notification, centralized configuration, firmware operations and event log history. There are several features that are new to version 2.2, including the display of PoE power consumption, precise packet and trend tracking, device-level network availability monitoring, and MIB browser and MIB ecompiler, inventory and availability reports and device property reports.
