EDX Wireless Releases Latest RF Planning Tool for In-Building DAS and AP deployments
As networks become more complex, maintaining up-to-date networks can be tedious. Accurate network diagramming is crucial to not only ensure uninterrupted workflow but also address issues such as troubleshooting, compliance and planning.
Automated network diagramming solutions alleviate the workload by making the process automated and ensuring that managers have the most up-to-date network diagrams. They can create a network diagram instantly with just a few small inputs from the user. It also helps diagnose performance problems right away, reducing operational costs and boasting optimal performance and connectivity.
EDX (News - Alert) Wireless, which develops innovative wireless network diagramming and RF planning solutions, has released the latest version of EDX Signal-IQ, a comprehensive software system for the design of in-building wireless networks, including Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), picocell, femtocell and 802.11 Access Point (News - Alert) (AP) deployments.
Signal-IQ, an extension of the EDX SignalPro family of RF planning solutions, is a fully integrated standalone indoor RF design tool. It solves the engineering challenges of indoor RF and DAS design and prediction.
Version 2.4 of EDX Signal-IQ streamlines and simplifies the end to end design of in-building RF networks for various technologies such as cellular system DAS design and VHF & UHF band designs for public safety and other Mission Critical applications.
The latest version of Signal-IQ also includes an extensive and easily customizable RF component database to accommodate each user’s preferred equipment lists. It comes with several features to enhance workflow and usability. These features have been added to streamline complex processes.
Signal-IQ 2.4 also includes visualization enhancements such as 3D view and an expanded schematic diagram, measurement data vs. prediction statistics, building georeferencing using Google (News
- Alert) Earth polygon files, inter-floor propagation, and support for multi-carrier, multi-technology DAS.
With the RF DAS and/or AP design placed on the floor plan, Signal-IQ allows the user to simulate and display the coverage of the indoor network via a wide range of available RF study options including real-time coverage prediction features.
