SolarWinds Localized Network Performance Monitor Enters Japanese Market

Delivering on its commitment to provide affordable IT management software that is powerful and easy to use to customers worldwide, SolarWinds (News - Alert) recently blew into Japan with the localized version of its flagship product- the SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM).

This product performs comprehensive network performance monitoring for multi-vendor networks and strives to eliminate the complexity inherent in traditional enterprise software, said company officials.

As part of an ongoing process to expand its presence in the Japanese market, SolarWinds has invested strongly in the country, created a Japanese language website and formed a dedicated, native Japanese-speaking support team. Its latest effort is also a step in that direction.

Doug Hibberd, executive vice president of technology and general manager of APAC operations at SolarWinds was confident that potential customers in Japan would find NPM “easy to buy, easy to install, and easy to use.”

The NPM has advanced features that include intelligent network alerting and automated network discovery and mapping. Customized reports can be created depending upon the company's individual needs and can be deployed easily and affordably

SolarWinds IT management product portfolio includes network management, server and application management, log and event management, virtualization management, and storage management software, a mobile app, and dozens of free IT management tools.

To promote these products in Japan and to extend the reach of the NPM, SolarWinds has partnered with local Japanese companies.

These companies have a variety of skills that range from being specialists in network monitoring and management to being able to offer strong solutions to thousands of clients. In addition, they have the capacity to understand the specific needs of SMEs and offer them an adequate support system.

In other news, network diagramming specialist OPNET, a well known provider in the APM (News - Alert) space, has entered into a new partnership with global air transport IT solutions vendor SITA and implemented a new APM platform at a tier one U.S. airport that services north of 50 million passengers each year. This was necessary as the existing toolset was unable to keep pace with the growth, leading directly to outages response delays and disruptions of airport services, according to a recent case study.
