VistaFoundation Kit 4.3, designed to help Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and large enterprise IT organizations, is the latest version of InfoVista's service performance assurance technology platform.

This upgraded performance platform, which is the most scalable, flexible and cost-effective on the market, provides network performance transparency, end-to-end service visibility and also supports the transition to all-IP, according to company officials.

"The new release of our technology foundation is distinctively positioned to address CSPs and large enterprise IT organizations' needs for OPEX (News - Alert)/CAPEX reduction, all while managing the performance of an extended and more diverse IP-based network, service and application portfolio," said Vikas Trehan, senior vice president, product strategy and alliances at InfoVista.

VistaFoundation Kit 4.3 collects and analyzes performance information in real time and immediately transforms IT performance data into relevant, insightful and actionable information.

It also claims to deliver “unrivalled scalability,” increased reliability, out of the box integrations with major vendor systems, customized integrations with any third party applications and support to the Linux environment.

InfoVista also says that the upgraded platform supports more customers, services and network resources within the same IT environment, outpaces market competitors and lowers total cost of ownership.

CSPs are being challenged by declining voice and data revenues and decreasing net profits making it imperative for them to differentiate by diversifying service offerings in a strongly competitive market. Mobile operators and backhaul transport providers are in a similar boat battling to lower costs of mobile data traffic volume.

Under tremendous pressure to restrain costs, transform their business models and improve operational efficiency, CSPs can now turn to VistaFoundation Kit 4.3 to empower them and help transform their IT infrastructure into an asset for revenue generation.

In other industry news, OPNET Technologies (News - Alert) shed light on its decade-old client, the US Central Command Air Forces. According to a customer case study, OPNET constructed a Network Common Operating Picture (OPNET nCompass) system for US Central Command Air Forces (USCENTAF), based on OPNET's SP Guru technology and data stored in OPNET VNE Server.

“The USCENTAF OPNET nCompass requirements for data fusion, modeling, and situational awareness are a perfect fit for us,” Marc Cohen, OPNET's chairman and CEO, said in a customer case study. “OPNET's VNE Server and SP Guru products provide a great foundation for our professional services team to build on, and adapt to the unique environment at the Network Operations Security Center.”
