By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Spacenet Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Gilat Satellite Networks (News - Alert) Ltd. and a provider of broadband networking solutions, has introduced a new offer, called StarBundle, for its StarBand satellite Internet services.

Officials with Spacenet said that the new StarBundle program currently offers satellite equipment and installation for $0 after a $150 mail-in rebate is applied, and is available with all new StarBand Nova services, including Nova 500, 1000 and 1500 purchases.

“Spacenet is pleased to offer a more economical option for satellite Internet service with our new StarBundle offer,” said Mark Munson, general manager, StarBand, in a statement.

Munson said that the $0 down offer after a $150 mail-in rebate is applied eliminates the initial upfront equipment and installation cost, enabling more customers across the country to have access to affordable broadband Internet service via satellite.

Company officials said that StarBand offers a wide range of service levels and pricing to customers across the U.S. with many different levels of broadband requirements.

StarBand’s Internet access services, the Nova series, include the Nova 500, 1000 and 1500.

According to company officials, Nova 500 is designed for customers that want a basic broadband Internet experience at a cost-effective price and is ideal for light web surfing and emailing. Nova 1000 is designed for customers that need a more robust broadband Internet experience and is ideal for home users and telecommuters that do frequent web surfing and emailing.

Nova 1500, company officials said, is designed for customers that need a professional level broadband Internet service and is ideal for professionals and small businesses that need fast Internet to support web surfing, emailing, sending and receiving large files, and downloading

The Nova services utilize commercial-grade satellite equipment and are available with value added features including: 10 free hours of dial access per month for backup or traveling; virus protection; spam filtering; access to the StarBand Member Portal powered by Google; 24X7 online support; and up to 15 email accounts.

Spacenet’s other appliances, such as the Prysm Pro, enable fully PCI (News - Alert)-compliant managed network service solutions.
