Infrastructure as a Service

Rebel Networks to Offer Infrastructure as a Service to Web Hosting Providers

June 27, 2011

Rebel Networks, a provider of outsourced Internet hosting solutions and related Web services, announced it has formed a partnership with OnApp Software to jointly develop a cloud computing solution.

OnApp develops cloud management software for the hosting industry.

Under the terms of the partnership Rebel Networks will offer  cloud hosting Infrastructure as a Service to Web hosting providers, as well as end user customers. The service (both private and public cloud) will include servers, storage area network (SAN) storage and bandwidth, along with OnApp's cloud management software, for a monthly fee.

The combined offering gives a simple and affordable way to Web hosts to launch their own cloud hosting products without the capital investment and running costs associated with building their own cloud infrastructure.

The service offers consumption based billing in which customers pay only for what they need – eliminating the hidden costs of IT resource underutilization. Further, Rebel Networks Cloud will accelerate the time to value by eliminating long procurement cycles associated with in-house development projects.

Additionally, the combined cloud offering will simplify IT operations and the fully-managed option delivers an enterprise class, cloud-enabled IT environment, while eliminating the complexity of managing an in-house server, company officials said.

Domenic Macchione, president and CEO, Rebel Networks, said, “Building clouds with OnApp software allows us to reach into new markets and allow smaller hosting companies into the cloud space, without a lot of up front capital investments.”

Rebel Networks, the wholly owned operating subsidiary of American Diversified Holdings Corporation, currently provides the infrastructure to about 50 Web hosting reseller companies around the globe.
