Infrastructure as a Service Leader Introduces Email Management System

June 20, 2011

Infrastructure as a Service provider Dyn (News - Alert) has released its Enterprise Class Technology (ECT) platform to help oversee and manage email delivery.

Previously called SendLabs SmartMTA, DynECT Email Delivery was created after the company acquiesced email services provider SendLabs last year. Company officials said that their goal was to further develop an Infrastructure as a Service platform that would allow power users to connect to Dyn and deploy either transactional or bulk.

The company is conveying its readiness for primetime by including the Dyn name on this product, said Kyle York (News - Alert), vice president of sales and marketing at Dyn.

The email platform is positioned to send large volumes of email with real-time scalability, York said, adding that the company has put a lot of time into training its teams, finalizing a user-friendly interface and developing advanced features that give the company a true competitive edge.

The released platform comes with additional technology, features and support that puts it on par with Dyn’s other enterprise level offerings such as DynECT Managed DNS platform that serves nearly 1,500 Web enterprises.

Some of the features include RepCheck; Open, Click and Read Tracking; enhanced dashboards; and API integration. Company officials said that in an easy-to-read dashboard, users now have more insight into their sending reputation with Internet service providers (ISPs) including authentication, volume/frequency, inbox acceptance rate, complaint rates and more.

Users can now track open and click activity. Plus, they have the advantage of a report that displays whether users read or skimmed through emails, said company officials. Moreover, an advanced landing page reports high-level statistics from the past seven days such as new “delivered” metrics.

Company officials said that items tracked include messages sent, which can now be categorized as either “delivered,” “bounced,” “complaints” or “issues.” Moreover, API integration allows users to automate and integrate seamlessly with their current email application using the robust API. SMTP connection.

“One of the reasons we went with DynECT Email Delivery is because of its reputation; a company that Meltwater partners with was a client and gave very positive reviews,” said Jeet Patel, project manager at Meltwater Group.

Earlier last month, Dyn joined the Red Hat (News - Alert) OpenShift Partner Program in line with the launch of Red Hat’s platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering, OpenShift.
