Environmental Monitoring: Companies Intro Solutions to Look Over Data Centers

Modius, a provider of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solutions, announced that its OpenData Enterprise Edition will integrate Intel (News - Alert) Data Center Manager (Intel DCM), a real-time data center power and thermal management solution.

Leveraging Intel DCM (News - Alert), Modius will enhance OpenData Enterprise Edition with increased visibility and analytics. Intel DCM enables Modius to offer energy intelligence about critical IT and facilities assets.

The integration will help IT and data center managers better understand and manage the power consumption of their computing resources. The integration of Intel DCM directly into Modius OpenData will also enable a new set of functionality as Intel DCM captures power and temperature data from a broad range of IT equipment.

“Intel Data Center Manager coupled with OpenData Enterprise Edition enables data center operators to gauge device-level performance and take actionable steps to plan for capacity and reduce energy consumption,” said Jeffrey Klaus, director, Data Center Solutions, Intel.

OpenData dashboards and reports with data from Intel DCM further adds increased intelligence across a heterogeneous landscape of IT and facilities equipment, Klaus added.

In other industry news, environmental monitoring leader ITWatchDogs recently added to its family of solutions by releasing its newest product, the WatchDog 100, a cost-effective and compact monitor with built-in sensors for temperature, humidity and dew point.
