Environmental Monitoring Product SuperGoose II Comes with LCD Display, Audible Alarm
ITWatchDogs, an environmental monitoring leader, has a series of product sets designed to ensure the proper functioning of critical facilities like data centers, computer server rooms and network closets. One of its flagship products, SuperGoose II, joins the likes of other ITWatchDogs’ products like the WeatherGoose II and MiniGoose XPII to watch over your infrastructure.
Designed to provide Web-based remote surveillance of the environmental parameters, along with the connected sensors, the rack-mountable SuperGoose II comes equipped with an LCD display for scrolling measurements and a built-in audible alarm.
According to ITWatchDogs, SuperGoose II allows you to easily view and log temperature, relative humidity, dew point, airflow, light, sound and more over the intranet or the Web. No software is required as users can securely access the graphical interface from a Web browser. With a power adapter included, the unit supports both digital and analog sensors. In addition, the remote environmental monitor supports the IOE and Remote Power Manager X2.
When temperature or humidity falls outside of specified parameters, the environmental monitoring product triggers multiple/escalating alarms via SNMP (v1, v2c, v3), email and SMS messages (e-mail to SMS gateway). For example, specify an email notification to one or more users at 70 °F, add another layer of personnel to an additional email alarm at 80 °F, add your third party contractor at 85 °F. In short, users can specify up to 200 alarms per unit.
The Web-based SuperGoose II displays real-time readings and graphs of temperature, humidity and dew point, in addition to data logs in standard format (downloadable as XML or CSV file). Graphing scales are fully adjustable, according to ITWatchDogs.
The unit’s Web page interfaces up to four IP cameras (not included), giving the user a quick view of remote conditions, especially useful in case of an alarm.
ITWatchDogs said that SuperGoose II is simple to install and use, and requires no special software other than a standard Web browser. It connects to an Ethernet network with a standard RJ45 connector and sends data in standard TCP/IP packets. It is easily configured with a simple menu using a Web browser and can be password protected with three access account level types: administrator, control and view only. From within an Intranet or over the Internet, the user can securely access the monitor by entering its IP address, stated ITWatchDogs.
