Digital Signage: Black Box Launches HD View HDMI Repeater

Black Box has unveiled its latest product – the HD View HDMI Repeater – which works with the transmitter in the HD View HDMI system to distribute high-definition video and digital audio content as far as 660 feet in cascaded multiscreen applications.

HD View HDMI Repeater represents another significant product development in order to solve the challenges faced with distributing high-definition video and digital audio content over long distances. This product represents only one of the many innovative digital signage and multimedia solutions available from Black Box (

Alert),” said Keith Kazmer, product manager,
digital signage, for Black Box.
According to company officials, the standard maximum distance for HDMI cable is 16 feet, depending on the cable and technology used. Lawrence, Penn.-based Black Box designs, builds and maintains data networking services and voice infrastructure systems and currently serves 175,000 clients in 141 countries with 192 offices throughout the world.
Company officials said the HD View video distribution system is ideal for
digital signage, bulletins, and training aids and makes distributing video systems to LCD or plasma screens “quick and easy.”

Nortel systems will continue to get a heightened level of support and service from Black Box Network Services, company officials said.
