Server Technology (News - Alert), a provider of data center power distribution units (PDUs), has formed a pact with Kannegieter Electronica, one of the Netherlands’ premier suppliers of advanced IT infrastructure solutions, to deliver data center power solutions in the Benelux region.

Under the terms of the partnership, the companies will bring highly intelligent rack and cabinet based power distribution to new and existing data center operators throughout Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Kannegieter, according to officials at Server Technology, has earned the reputation within the Benelux IT community by delivering the highest quality physical layer infrastructure solutions available.

Kannegieter developed interest in Server Technology after becoming aware of the offerings from the company, its reputation and leadership.

Server Technology offers PDUs for mission critical applications. They are available in a wide range of outlet configurations. Hundreds of European-specific offerings are available with each device rated up to 63 amps or more.

The PDU solutions range from basic and intelligent power distribution models to highly advanced units which provide the ability for each outlet to include switching and/or 3rd party verified accuracy for power measurement.

Recent reports indicated that the upward trend in the growth of data center energy has slowed as data center power consumption increased by 36 percent from 2005 to 2010, a much smaller increase than the 100 percent gain projected in a study prepared in 2007.

The reduction in data center power consumption is the result of data center consolidation, according to officials at Server Technology.

Julie Brown, marketing manager at Server Technology, told TMCnet, “Companies across the country are consolidating their older data centers into fewer, more efficient data centers. They’re also measuring and monitoring their power consumption with solutions like our Sentry Power Manager (SPM) to help them manage their power consumption, to deal with capacity planning, to find ‘stranded capacity’ and to locate comatose, or ‘zombie’ servers.’”
