CyrusOne Expanding Data Center Space in Texas

By John Lahtinen, Community Development Editor, TMCnet

A subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell and leading enterprise data center colocation solutions provider, CyrusOne (News - Alert) has announced the commissioning of an additional 65,000 square-feet of data center space in its facility north of Dallas, Texas – a facility which currently offers 192,000 square-feet of prime redundant power architecture with high-density capability and abundant connectivity.

“With the expansion of our North Dallas facility, CyrusOne stands ready to help enterprise customers better manage their data center requirements with highly cost-efficient and flexible solutions,” said Gary Wojtaszek, president of CyrusOne, in a release. “Increasing demand from Fortune 1000 companies for colocation space in the Dallas area is being driven by business expansion and a growing desire to have a centralized location for applications and data center. CyrusOne is uniquely qualified to meet this demand.”

To meet future power requirements, CyrusOne inked an agreement, to add 14 megawatts (MW) of power capacity at the facility by 2012, with Texas-New Mexico Power. The deal will result in available power capacity of 22 MW with future expansion available up to 62 MW, as required.

According to the release, CyrusOne data centers, backed by a fully-redundant power architecture and on-site substation, are uniquely designed to support highly-powered server environments, allowing customers the flexibility in choosing the most current server technology to install within their environment.

CyrusOne is headquartered in Houston and has 18 facilities across the United States and London.
