Cloud Storage Company CX Launches Android Application

Cloud technology company CX Inc. rolled out its Android (News - Alert) application, giving Android and Kindle Fire users additional means of accessing the CX cloud.

CEO Brad Robertson claims CX – which launched in October – is one of the fastest growing cloud computing storage applications, bringing on approximately 30,000 new customers each week.

“While CX can always be accessed via the mobile Web client – users can now go native on their devices with the latest additions of the native Android and Kindle Fire applications,” Robertson said in a company statement

The recent additions accompany CX’s growing list of applications, which allow for secure syncing, creation, consumption and collaboration of content in the cloud with CX, Robertson said.

“As promised, CX.com will continue to be your secure digital command center, through which you can take control of all your content from any device,” he added.

CX emphasizes its collaboration functionality and is designed for many types of users – from consumers, students, schools, small businesses, as well as large enterprises. CX users can control how their content – whether it’s through public or private individual shares to collaboration in teams and groups using “CX Groups,” which provide everyone invited in the group asynchronously collaboration on their content. 

Storage space is only used on the account that initiated the sharing or created the group, CX said. The CX app saw thousands of downloads in the first hours of the release as well as receiving 4/5 average rating from the Android Market, company officials said. CX offers customers groups with the potential to add up to 1 million participants per group, a collaboration and real-time notification suite and 10 gigabytes of free, secure storage.
