IceWEB (News - Alert), a provider of Unified Data Storage and building blocks for cloud storage networks, announced that a cloud computing service company has given an order for an IceWEB Model 5000-HC Unified Storage Data Storage Platform.

With the help of IceWEB storage system, cloud users can use IceWEB replication services to automatically back up all their data.

IceWEB's replication service encrypts the data for secure communication in the cloud. Clients can also receive an off-site resource for disaster recovery.

"Any business is at great risk when all their computing assets are located in one place," said Ed Kraus, operations vice president of IceWEB, in a statement.

"Having backup storage in the cloud, at a separate location just makes sense. And being online, customers have access to their data no matter where they are. All they need is a secure Internet connection," Kraus added.

The IceWEB 5000-HC provides cloud computing service providers with high-density storage for all business applications. Whether these business applications are in the cloud or the data center, the 128-bit ZFS file system offers affordable scaling.

Other features of 5000-HC include support to Fibre Channel and 10GbE connections; VMware compatibility; unlimited snapshots, clones, asynchronous and synchronous replication and many more without any extra charge.

The company's exclusive value-added distributor Promark Technology markets IceWEB products throughout the United States through its nationwide network of 1,200 channel partners.

Recently, IceWEB announced that the digital footprint of the company will cross the $10,000,000 mark. Around 15 percent of its total revenues during next year will be allocated towards deferred maintenance revenue for maintenance, upgrade and support systems.
