Searchlight Solutions Publishes Shareholder Update

Looking forward to opportunities ahead for its Searchlight Scientific HPC cloud computing business, Searchlight Solutions has stated in its shareholder update that the company is confident and optimistic about the future of the cloud computing industry.

With the recent introduction by Apple (News - Alert) of its cloud service, company management believes that the cloud computing industry took a major step forward. The global cloud service market is expected to grow substantially, with revenue expected to reach $148.8 billion by 2014, according to recent findings of the technology research firm Gartner (News - Alert) Inc. Furthermore, the company has stated that its recent accomplishments have laid a foundation to build its HPC cloud business upon the completed acquisition of a high-performance computing ("HPC") company, Linux Labs International.

Utilizing their proprietary Nimbus OS, Linux Labs International Inc. is a seven-year-old company that designs and builds high-performance supercomputers. Linux Labs is a revenue-generating company that is launching a new cloud-based solution for the HPC marketplace. Searchlight's cloud computing business will now have a foundation with this, the company stated in a press release.

The company has also completed development for the prototype of their cloud-based secure storage solution, and this is a component of the Linux Labs Indigo file system. As the efficiency of data handling is substantially increased when login data is handled in this manner, this development will give Linux Labs competitive advantages in the Cloud Storage arena. Searchlight Scientific is a next generation data services company focused on developing and growing cloud based solutions.

Recently, the company completed the closing of the definitive agreement for the acquisition of majority control of the common stock of Linux Labs International Inc. Linux Labs International Inc. is a hybrid engineering firm specializing in technologies that expand the field of high performance supercomputing. Linux Labs designs and builds high-performance supercomputers utilizing their proprietary NimbusOS. Searchlight noted that it expects to receive several acquisition offers over the next twelve to eighteen months.
