Ortsbo Offering Cloud Computing Real Time Translation Application on Microsoft Windows Azure Platform

A division of Intertainment Media Inc., Ortsbo announced that its world famous real time translation application is moving to cloud to support viral growth. Built on the Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Azure platform, Ortsbo's new HTML alpha platform will allow the users to connect initially to Facebook, MSN and Google GTalk. Other social networks will be implemented quickly on the new platform, the company said in a press release.

According to the press release, the new platform has been launched ahead of schedule.

The company further claimed that the imitative has been launched at a time, when Google (News - Alert) decided to close down of its popular Translate application programming interface.

In the release, Ortsbo explained that unlike traditional capital expense model, the operating expense model resulting from the move to Windows Azure will provide Ortsbo with increased user capacity, speed and performance. This ultimately will help the users to achieve significant cost saving.

The HTML version of Ortsbo which enables real time translated chat to virtually all worldwide browser enabled devices is aimed at both commercial and individual consumers. The users will not require to download a plug- in..

Currently Ortsbo is developing its new platform, Ortsbo 2.0 to offer increased language capabilities. The new platform, scheduled for beta release in calendar Q4 2011 is designed to allow users to chat in real time in over 80 languages. Punjabi and Traditional Chinese have been included in this list as user requested languages.

Microsoft Silverlight based original version of Ortsbo, which supports 12 of the world's most popular chat networks will remain in operation for the near future.

Ortsbo was initially launched in July 2010, Ortsbo's social media translation platform infrastructure was designed to handle 12 Million monthly users in the first two/ three years operations. According to the company, the existing platform has touched 16.1 Million users mark and this forced Ortsbo to accelerate the initial launch of the Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Platform planned for mid June. As Ortsbo integrates the new cloud app, performance numbers will be reported monthly, the company said in the release.

Earlier this month Intertainment announced that its social media, real time, language translation platform, Ortsbo.com has entered into an agreement with two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash to become an official spokesperson for Ortsbo.
