Nefsis Enhances Cloud-Based Video Conferencing Solution
By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor
Nefsis has enhanced its cloud-based video conferencing solution, a solution that requires less capital expense and offers a free trial and month-to-month service and unlimited scalability.
Nefsis’s current offering boasts secure, multipoint HD video conferencing for desktops and conference rooms, with built-in advanced collaboration tools for business online meetings, according to company officials.
For customers that require similar capability, the alternative to cloud computing is on-premise, video conferencing infrastructure such as video routers, multichannel units (MCUs), desktop gateway and collaboration servers. This class of infrastructure hardware is expensive, complex, and typically requires substantial network changes and maintenance agreements.
According to company officials, their video conferencing solution can be used with almost any webcam or PC video peripheral, or even no camera at all. This includes webcams, pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) conference room cameras, high definition (HD) cameras, even output from specialized video devices such as hand-held cameras, document cameras, factory floor and medical imaging equipment.
"Exploding demand for video conferencing in business highlights the benefits of cloud computing. It's much less expensive and going month-to-month reduces financial risk," said Steven Peltier, Nefsis chief executive officer, in a statement. "There are many other benefits too, but reducing financial risk is especially important for small and mid-sized businesses that haven't tried video conferencing yet.”
Users even have an option to mix and match different cameras in the same online meeting, even change their camera selection on-the-fly. Nefsis maximizes the quality of the video conferencing experience, which is limited only by the video capture hardware and bandwidth available to each participant.
"As Skype (News

Headquartered in San Diego, Calif., Nefsis is a technology specialist in video conferencing software and cloud computing online services.
