Cloud Technology Expert from Syntel Chosen for National Cloud Computing Advisory Panel

The global provider of integrated information technology and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) solutions, Syntel (News - Alert), Inc., announced that one of its key executives – a cloud computing expert – has been chosen to serve on the prestigious TechAmerica Foundation’s Commission on Cloud Computing.

In a press release, Syntel announced that Ashok Balasubramanian, head of Syntel's Cloud Computing Center of Excellence (CoE), will be leading the commission’s initiatives relating to the US government’s deployment of the Cloud.

Known as CLOUD² the project is designed to provide the Obama Administration with recommendations on how government can better deploy cloud technologies. The commission is also expected to propose public policies to help the government agencies leverage the many benefits of cloud technology for driving economic growth.

As the head of Syntel’s Cloud Computing CoE, Balasubramanian leads a dedicated R&D group tasked with developing cloud-based technology solutions. These solutions are aimed at cost reduction for the company. The solutions are also believed to help the company in increasing flexibility in the face of dynamic market conditions.

In the press release, Syntel informed that Balasubramanian’s role also involves managing and supervising Syntel's suite of cloud computing services, which include Portfolio Analysis and Cloud Strategy, Cloud Migration, Re-architecture and Testing, Private and Hybrid Cloud Development and Management as well as PaaS and SaaS (News - Alert) Development.

“I am honored to be chosen to serve on this important commission. Cloud Computing has the potential to revolutionize the way we communicate, do business, and interact with the world around us,” Balasubramanian claimed in a statement.

“I look forward to working with the other commissioners to develop robust strategies to leverage Cloud technologies to drive the next wave of innovation and economic growth,” he added.

In a press release, Syntel recently announced that it will exhibit at SYS (News - Alert)-CON's 8th International Cloud Expo, which will take place on June 6-9, 2011, at the Javits Center in New York City, New York.
