The Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA) has expanded, announcing that voice and data provider GLOBALINX and manufacturers Samsung (News - Alert) Business Communications and Sansay have joined the alliance.

In April 2010 at the Cloud Computing Expo in New York City, eight industry leaders in hosted-IP voice and data communications announced the formation of the CCA as a consortium that will drive development and adoption of the first nationwide high-definition enterprise voice and data network in the IP “cloud.”

The CCA affords providers the opportunity to work together to promote new technology, meeting once every quarter to discuss industry trends.

Other members of the alliance include: Alteva (News - Alert), Broadcore, Callis, Consolidated Technologies, IPFone, Simplesignal, Stage2 Networks, Telesphere, Telovations, CTI Group, Edgewater Networks, Polycom and Razorsight (News - Alert).

Samsung and Sansay are the fifth and six manufacturers to join the CCA, while GLOBALINX is the tenth VoIP provider to become a member, as noted in a press release.

“We are very excited to be a part of this unique, innovative group,” said Michael Machonkin (News - Alert), GLOBALINX Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We look forward to sharing best practices and brainstorming new applications and, hopefully, we can bring some ideas to the table to benefit everyone.”
