Is there anything that cloud computing can’t do?

IBM’s (News - Alert) latest Blueworks Live product offering will combine process documentation – and it also brings certain improvements to the table. Blueworks Live will provide a new ability to structure and automate ad hoc processes in 90 seconds that businesses currently run over email and attachments, streamlining operations.

And the product is already gaining a following.

Lincoln Trust is on board. It is using Blueworks Live to streamline its process documentation and other BPM Services.

And they’re not shy about it. According to LaTeca Fields, business analyst within the specialized support services division at Lincoln Trust said,"We now have tools to map out, study and improve all of our processes.  They are user friendly and logical.  I'm excited that we've embraced the BPM technology and culture that supports the way we want to manage our business.”

According to IBM officials, Blueworks Live provides a more cost-efficient way for businesses to acquire and use information technology (IT) with IBM's reputation for security, reliability and integration.  According to IDC (News - Alert), public IT cloud services will grow at over five times the rate of traditional information technology (IT) products.  Worldwide revenue from public IT cloud services exceeded $16 billion in 2009 and is forecast to reach $55.5 billion in 2014, representing a compound annual growth rate of 27.4 percent.

To that specificity, IBM’s general manager for application integration middleware, Marie Wieck, said “75 percent of our customers' processes today are conducted using email or spreadsheet and document attachments. Blueworks Live is a revolutionary tool for the masses, opening the door to valuable business user involvement and insight into processes not addressed by business process management tools in the past."

Essentially, the cloud computing BPM platform’s design helps process owners and business users implement and improve their business processes. They can leverage the built-in real-time monitoring and analytics, clients can understand process bottlenecks and inefficiencies for optimization purposes.
