Application Performance Monitoring: PSI to Bring Lancope Solution to Japanese Market

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

PSI Inc., a distributor of network and security technologies, has announced that it will distribute application performance monitoring solutions provider Lancope's StealthWatch System to the Japanese market.

PSI offers its customers fiber optics-based network connectivity products, multi-media transmission systems that can help extend networking distances.

Enabling organizations to embrace the latest technologies and trends without sacrificing network performance or security, StealthWatch is scalable to meet the needs of even the largest networks, as it analyzes up to 3 million flows per second, and also provides visibility into virtual networks. This system is ideal for supporting forensic investigations and compliance initiatives with advanced features including application and identity awareness, as well as automatic threat prioritization and mitigation.

“A region marked by such fast-paced technology adoption requires an innovative means of safeguarding network security and performance without hindering the use of cutting-edge devices and applications," said Steve Simpson, director of international sales and operations for Lancope. "The Japanese market has also seen increasingly stringent compliance requirements over the past several years, further necessitating comprehensive network and security monitoring. StealthWatch unobtrusively monitors all network traffic to quickly pinpoint and remediate risks without affecting performance.”

To provide higher levels of security, availability and performance, StealthWatch fills in the gaps between other network and security technologies. StealthWatch uncovers insider threats such as policy violations, network misuse, device misconfigurations and data leakage not detected by traditional systems in addition to detecting zero-day attacks that often bypass perimeter defenses, the company stated in a press release.

Recently, the company announced the availability of the newest version of the StealthWatch System 6.1, the company has announced. StealthWatch Management Console manages, coordinates and configures all StealthWatch appliances to correlate security and network intelligence across the enterprise. To keep up with the explosive rise in flow data among today's enterprises, StealthWatch 6.1 includes the StealthWatch FlowCollector 4000, which features massive scalability – up to 120,000 flows per second (fps) per collector.
