Lancope, Inc., a major provider of flow-based security, network and application performance monitoring, has appointed David Scruggs as new vice president of North American Sales.
Scruggs will now assume overall responsibility for commercial and government direct and channel sales management in the United States and Canada. He will oversee North American commercial and government sales, as well as pre-sales system engineering.
Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope, said in a press release: "David has been a tremendous asset to our company. He achieved consistent, significant sales growth as our major account manager in the Southeast, focused exclusively on the Fortune 1000, and stepped up last year as director of sales for North America, leading his team to record revenue growth in 2010."
He brings more than 14 years of sales experience to the position with leading technology companies, including more than five years with Lancope.
Before joining Lancope, Scruggs worked for Internet Security Systems (News - Alert) as an account manager for three years. There, he was responsible to deliver a broad array of security products and services to the large enterprise market.
He also spent six years in sales roles with IBM (News - Alert) and an IBM partner. Academically, Scruggs holds a BBA in Management from Georgia State University.
"I am excited about the opportunity to further expand upon the success of a technology that I truly believe in,” said Scruggs. “There is no other company like ours that can help customers leverage flow data to transform network and security operations, giving them the visibility to run their businesses more effectively, said Scruggs.”
In related news, Lancope joined a panel of industry experts at Interop (News - Alert) Las Vegas this week to present on the changing network management landscape.
