Collaborative Innovation Key to JDSU's IPTV, Network and Application Performance Monitoring

By Jaclyn Allard, TMCnet Web Editor

Recently TMC’s (News - Alert) Rajani Baburajan reported on JDSU (News - Alert), a Technology Alliance Partner with Datacom Systems, an application performance monitoring solution provider.  In Baburajan’s report, she mentions Tom Waechter, JDSU president and CEO, and his belief that innovative collaboration is the driving principle behind JDSU's brand and interaction with its customers.

Collaborative innovation helps JDSU to apply its technology expertise to drive innovation with real-world impact. JDSU has collaborated with world-class companies across a range of industries including communications networking, financial services, energy, consumer electronics, network monitoring, and application performance monitoring.

JDSU’s dedication to its partners, clientele and next-generation innovation, led Saudi Telecom (STC), a national telecommunications services provider in Saudi Arabia, to JDSU for an IPTV (News - Alert) monitoring solution, giving STC the visibility to proactively detect and resolve IPTV service and network quality, as well as application performance issues. Officials with JDSU said that the communications test solution will keep customer satisfaction high, while also reducing operational costs.

"As we face high expectations for delivering quality IPTV services, we saw the need for a much more comprehensive test and measurement solution to help keep customer satisfaction high while also reducing operational costs," said Eng. Maziad Al-Harbi, STC general manager of Network Services Solutions, in a statement. "JDSU's IPTV solution was a winning combination -- including JDSU's successful IPTV installations, flexibility, intimate knowledge of video MPEG protocol, strong OSS experience and consultancy expertise.”

As Al-Harbi and many other JDSU customers have realized, effective collaboration with its customers enabled JDSU to deliver the right product at the right time. Thus, the company ensures that the R&D investment and M&A strategy are aligned with the actual needs of its customers, needs such as security, network quality and application performance.
