By Juliana Kenny, TMCnet Managing Editor

As the community of developing application performance monitoring providers expands, Lancope, Inc. is at the forefront of the industry, recently announcing its latest generation of its StealthWatch System utilizing NetFlow to enhance flow-based security and end-to-end network visibility.

A provider of network and application performance monitoring solutions, Lancope launched StealthWatch 6.0, thereby addressing challenges businesses are able to address concerning globalization, user mobility, IT consumerization, and business trends. The development that Lancope has produced reduces the time organizations spend on operational efficiency from problem to resolution.

Steve McOwen, Cisco Systems' (News - Alert) director of information security stated, "NetFlow is an extremely useful and underused tool for maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise networks. Lancope captures the full power of NetFlow without requiring extensive time or resources from IT teams. In-depth flow data, application analysis and an easy-to-understand, graphical user interface make StealthWatch 6.0 a versatile tool for monitoring and responding to a wide variety of incidents."

Lancope customers include Cisco Systems, Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam, and Concord Hospital, all of whom have successfully employed StealthWatch 6.0 solutions. The solution includes behavorial analysis to ensure application delivery time, relational flow mapping, grouping of related hosts, and advanced reporting capabilities.

Mark Starry, director of enterprise architecture and security at Concord Hospital stated, "Through StealthWatch, we can quickly and cost-effectively troubleshoot even the most complex network and security issues. StealthWatch 6.0 enables us to easily determine whether issues are caused by the network itself or by a specific application, as well as pinpoint exactly which application and users are responsible. This type of insight is extremely valuable as more and more applications find their way onto corporate networks."

Analyzing up to 1.5 million flows per second, StealthWatch combines network and security capabilities into one platform that can be leveraged by a single infrastructure through which users can eliminate time spent on troubleshooting and other complexities normally encountered by network operations.

Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope stated, "StealthWatch dramatically streamlines the network troubleshooting workflow while decreasing costs and downtime. The latest version extends the value of the system to address evolving business and technology trends, arming IT teams to effectively address both current and future network challenges."
