Joyent, a company providing cloud computing infrastructure, shared its views on how poor application performance can cause companies to lose customers. The company notes that poor application performance eventually reduces employee productivity and negatively impacts bottom line revenue. Joyent’s whitepaper titled “Performance and Scale in Cloud Computing,” emphasizes that organizations should ensure that application performance is optimized when written for deployment on the cloud or moved from a data center to a cloud computing infrastructure.

Joyent also watches a whitepaper titled, Security in Public and Private Cloud Infrastructures. The paper gives the prospective cloud buyers a detailed idea about the Joyent Smart Technology solutions and how the company can improve cloud security when compared to traditional techniques.

Panvidea has selected Joyent, a company specializing in application hosting solutions, and its Smart Technology infrastructure to serve as the underlying computing architecture of its professional video service. SwitchCloud I.C.E -- the United States Inter-Cloud Exchange -- is expected to host the technology that supports this joint initiative. The union of three leaders in enterprise services represents an “unprecedented” collection of resources, technologies, and expertise that promises to transform the way in which content owners prepare their video content for multi-screen distribution, said David Young (News - Alert), CEO at Joyent.
